Dr. Gregorin was raised in upstate New York. He had a love for law enforcement and worked as an investigator on the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department. As he finished his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, he planned to go to law school and eventually become a district attorney.
You have no doubt heard it said, “A good way to make God laugh is to tell Him your plans.” Dr. Gregorin began noticing some changes in his life. One big change was he found himself witnessing to more and more of the people he was arresting. At this time, the Lord kept bringing to his mind that the criminal justice system could not really rehabilitate anyone. True and lasting change comes when a person gives his life to the Lord. As the Lord continued to change his heart and attitudes, it culminated with God’s call to preach. Consequently, in between graduating from college and before entering law school, he surrendered to God's call and entered seminary.
After graduating seminary with a Masters of Divinity, he moved to Nashville, TN where he worked in a Baptist church for nearly one year. At that time he married his wife Margaret of Toronto, Canada. Margaret also worked at the church and they knew each other from seminary.
The following March David and Margaret moved to Arkansas where he pastored a church outside of Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Then in 1991 David, Margaret, and their two children David and Jennifer moved to Sewickley, Pennsylvania. After fifteen years in Sewickley, David felt the Lord’s call to Lighthouse Baptist Church in Hope Mills, North Carolina. Thus in April of 2006 David, Margaret, David, Jennifer, and daughter Sarah, moved to Fayetteville, North Carolina where he became pastor of Lighthouse Baptist Church.
David and Jennifer both graduated from Northland Baptist Bible College in Wisconsin. David earned his degree in Youth Ministries and is presently teaching Bible at a local Christian school. Jennifer just graduated this year with her degree in English. She is presently in her first year of law school at Libery University School of Law. Sarah, our youngest is in her junior year at a local Christian high school.
